Hello I’m Sophie, I have recently moved to Ebrook from Hampshire, and I look forward to meeting you all. I am a musculoskeletal physiotherapist and Pilates instructor. I have a Masters in Physiotherapy, following on from an undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science.
My background lies as a high-performance rower on the GBR START program, giving me an in depth understanding of sport and the injuries you may face. My aspirations were thwarted by a serious back and shoulder injury which led me to experience chronic pain for multiple years. I feel this experience helps me to understand you as a patient, as I understand what it feels like to live with pain. I am now pain free and I hope I can help you to achieve this too!
I love to teach Pilates, I am qualified with STOTT but received full training in APPI, and I am soon to complete my reformer Pilates training! In my classes, I like to combine strengthening exercises, gentle stretching, and balance work to create a class tailored to you. Focusing on improving your posture and creating strong, resilient bodies. I will also be providing 1:1 clinical Pilates if you feel like you need some more guidance first.
When I am not in clinic, I work in motorsport where I provide physiotherapy for teams and racing drivers across Europe. I have previously worked with Masters historic racing (historic racing cars) and W series (female only series alongside formula 1). I now work for Porsche Motorsport, looking after their factory drives in endurance racing. I also race myself!
I like to assess and treat a wide range of people, with varying conditions. In particular I am interested in postural related pain, shoulder injuries, and backs. I use a mix of hands-on treatment, tailored rehabilitation exercises, and Pilates to improve strength and mobility. I look forward to meeting you in clinic where we will work together to get you pain free, stronger, and able to do the things you love!
