Introducing Ben

Hello, I’m Ben and I have recently joined the Ebrook team as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. I have a sports and exercise science undergraduate degree from Nottingham Trent University as well as a masters degree in Physiotherapy from Birmingham City University. Alongside this, I am also a qualified personal trainer and sports massage therapist.

Becoming a physiotherapist has been a goal of mine since a very young age, and my undergraduate degree further reinforced my desire to become a physiotherapist due to how much I enjoyed the lectures based around injury and rehabilitation. Throughout my physiotherapy placements I focused on musculoskeletal injuries, which allowed me to gain a wide range of knowledge about a variety of injuries such as joint pain, lower back pain, and sporting related trauma injuries. I have also had an extensive amount of experience working with post-op patients recovering from hip and knee replacements both immediately post-op and further along the recovery process.

Outside of physiotherapy, sport has been a huge part of my life. My background lies in Thai Boxing, having competed from the age of 6, turning professional at the age of 16 and then winning a WBC national title a few years ago. Competing in my sport has also given me the opportunity to travel and fight in Thailand on multiple occasions. This experience of elite sport and managing my own injuries throughout my career has given me a deeper understanding of what it is like to be a patient, the struggles of dealing with pain and injury and managing the recovery process as a whole. I feel this has made me a more rounded and understanding practitioner.

When I am not in clinic I spend my time in the gym either training Thai Boxing or coaching on both a 1-1 and class basis, I also spend a lot of my weekends at Thai Boxing shows cornering fighters from my gym who are competing. I also enjoy running, resistance training and playing golf on the weekends. I look forward to seeing you in clinic where I can help you get back to being pain free and able to do the things you love!
