Associate Registered Nutritionist

Meg Butler

Meg spent the beginning of her working life in health and physical activity promotion in public health roles. Taking a career break, Meg completed her Masters Degree in Nutrition and Public Health Management at Sheffield Hallam University, where she qualified with first class honours, and gained her Associate Nutritionist status.
Since graduating, Meg has worked as a Family Nutritionist, supporting and educating overweight and obese children and parents towards living healthier lifestyles through understanding how their nutritional choices influence their health.

Meg has a passion for making nutritional education accessible to her patients, and works to make sure they have the sustainable tools for a healthy relationship with food. Meg understands modern pressures on our diets, and how this may influence people’s relationships with food. Meg works in a person-centred and realistic way to empower her patients to overcome nutritional issues, and create life-long healthy habits to support them achieving their goals. Meg provides a sound, evidence-based approach to nutrition, and helps to cut through the noise of fad diets, slimming clubs, and unhealthy restrictions with her proactive, holistic approach.

Working one-to-one with her clients in clinic, Meg chooses a face-to-face approach as she feels this is the best way to communicate the subtleties and nuances around people’s relationship with food. Often seeing her patients for a course of appointments, Meg likes to track their progression and mark successes as they work together towards a chosen goal. Meg wants to help break the “binge-restrict diet cycle” and help her clients understand that they can have a balanced, healthy and satiating diet, that also brings them joy. One of Meg’s favourite parts of working with clients is educating people to understand that they can still achieve their goals whilst eating the foods they love.

Meg often sees clients struggling with achieving a healthy weight, body composition, low energy levels, or people seeking to use food as a route to improved physical and mental health. Meg believes eating should bring us both health and happiness, and encourages her clients to nourish their body, mind and spirit with good food.

Outside of the clinic, Meg enjoys hiking and running with her fox red Labrador, Benji. Meg spends her time away from work replenishing her own body and mind by getting outdoors and connecting with her friends and family. When social occasions call, Meg likes to mark the occasion with baking at home, with chocolate tiffin being her signature bake!
