Following the success of our Erdington Food Bank collection in 2018, Ebrook Osteopathy and Sports Clinic are this year welcoming donations for Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid.
This local charity, nominated by our Sports Therapist Michelle D’Arcy, supports women and children affected by gender-based abuse including domestic violence, forced marriage, FGM, sexual assault and honour-based abuse.
Founded over 40 years ago, Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid are now the leading provider of services for women and children affected by violence in the West Midlands. They provide a 24/7 phone and text helpline, community based drop-in services and safe emergency accommodation at six city-wide refuges. Trained volunteers also offer outreach education in the community, counselling, family support and are active in raising awareness with children and young people.
Throughout the year, but particularly at Christmas time, Women’s Aid rely and welcome donations of packaged food and toiletries, clean clothes, gifts and toys for the women and children who seek their support and refuge, often fleeing their homes and living in temporary accommodation without their personal possessions.
If you are visiting us in the clinic during over the next six weeks, you will see our festive collection boxes in reception- any donations will be welcomed and could make all the difference to someone really in need this Christmas. Thank you too all our wonderful patients for the generous donations received so far.
